UnityPoint Health is actively searching for a PA or NP to join our Emergency Medicine Team at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA.

As the first hospital in Dubuque, Finley has a long tradition of providing compassionate, quality health care in the communities we serve. Finley grew from a physician–led residential facility to a 126-bed, fully accredited hospital, and now, to a regional healthcare system that includes not only hospital services, but clinic and home services as well.

• Join a team of experienced physicians, APPs and support staff that have excellent patient outcomes
• Full-time Emergency Medicine opportunity
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
• Additional details provided upon request 

• 144 hours per month
• Variety of 12hr and 8hr shifts
• Average # of patients/per day: 74 patients/ 24 hours (2-5 patients/hour)
• Annual visit volume: 20,000-25,000
• Staffing Model:
  • Sunday - Tuesday: 1 MD & 2 APPs (10a-10p) and (4p-12a)                                                                 
  • Wednesday - Saturday: 1MD and 1APP (10a-10p)
• 16 private treatment rooms: including 2 advanced trauma rooms, behavioral health rooms and a Gynecology room
• Chief complaints presenting to the ER: Abdominal pain, chest pain, falls, shortness of breath, new back pain, dizziness, UTI, upper respiratory issues, etc.
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Experience in Emergency Medicine preferred
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
