In addition, St. Luke's ranks among the best hospitals in the world in providing NICU care for babies who are 22-23 gestational weeks and up. We provide high frequency ventilation for the smallest babies and provide inhaled nitric oxide for babies with pulmonary hypertension in addition to many other services.

• .9 FTE full time position responsible for inpatient Newborn Nursery care.
• Schedule: 12 Hours - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Day shift
• 4 Weekends on/1 weekend off rotation
• Pediatric Hospitalist Physician available for back up
• Additional onsite specialist support: Experienced Neonatologists team that will take the ill babies into their care.
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination.

• Admissions, rounds, and discharges in the Newborn Nursery
• Circumcisions procedures
• Not responsible for deliveries
• Outpatient follow up visits; if clinic is closed when newborn needs seen by.
• Average of 15-20 patients per day in the nursery
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent work/life balance with flexible scheduling

• Nurse Practitioner
• Board Certified; PNP or NNP
• Pediatric/Newborn experience
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
