UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.

 

  • Full-time Emergency Medicine opportunity
  • Stable group of experienced providers
  • Dedicated staff and specially trained nurses in providing emergency adult and pediatric care, as well as in trauma and resuscitation.
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

  • Level 3 Trauma Center
  • Average 98 ED visits daily, 36,000 annually
  • 204 bed Hospital with access to all specialties
  • 31 bed ED with 2 trauma rooms and 5 bed behavioral health area
  • Staffing Model: 40-hours of Physician coverage and 36-hours of APP coverage daily
  • Physician Shifts: 0700-1600, 1000-2000, 1500-2400 and 1900-0700
  • APP Shifts: 0600-1800, 1800-0600 and 1200-2400
  • Designated primary stroke center
  • Evaluate, interpret and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • BC/BE Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with ED experience
  • ACLS, PALS, ATLS (Certification requirements are waived for residency trained and ABEM/ABOEM certified physicians)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal license to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
