UnityPoint Health is actively searching for a Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Emergency Department in Fort Dodge, Iowa

UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge provides coordinated clinic, hospital and home-based care for patients in Fort Dodge and surrounding communities. As a designated regional referral center Trinity Regional Medical Center offers a wide range of primary and secondary care services. Trinity is accredited by DNV Healthcare Inc. and has achieved Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

 

  • Established team of physicians and advanced practitioners serving Fort Dodge and the surrounding communities
  • Level IV Trauma Center, high functioning
  • Emergency Medicine Physician in the department at all times
  • 21 Bed Emergency Department
  • ED Physician coverage 24/7
  • Life Flight 24/7
  • Cardiac Cath Services 24/7
  • Hospitalist Program 24/7
  • Radiology Services
  • Support Staff: RN’s, Charge Nurse, ED Technicians, Behavioral Health Coordinator, Respiratory Therapy, CRNA, Blank Pediatric Provider & Care Coordinator
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
  • New fully equipped Emergency Department

Responsibilities

  • Full-time employment with benefits
  • 1.0 FTE = 1,872 hours per year or 13 shifts per month
  • 12-hour shifts 
    • 9a-9p or 1p - 1a
  • 1:3 weekend rotation 
  • Average # of patients/day = 60
  • Annual visit volume = 20,000
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Experience preferred
  • Board Certified
  • Provider experience preferred; prior Emergency Medicine experience preferred
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS
  • Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States
