UnityPoint Clinic is actively recruiting for a Family Medicine Advanced Practice Provider to join our Prairie Parkway Residency Program Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa.

 

UnityPoint Health sponsors a family medicine residency program with two tracks- one located in Waterloo and second in Des Moines, IA. For more than 40 years, Allen Hospital has provided training for family medicine residents. Founded in 1925, it is the leading hospital for the Cedar Valley catchment area. Allen Hospital provides patient care in all service lines and offers the diversity in patients and pathology needed for a successful, well-rounded residency experience. The Family medicine Residency Clinic is located at Prairie Parkway, a 90,000 sq. ft., three-story campus located on 20 acres in the growing Pinnacle Prairie area of Cedar Falls. This building offers comprehensive services such as in-house lab, x-ray, physical/occupational/speech therapy, ambulatory and retail pharmacy.

 

UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. The UnityPoint Clinic team is known for excellence and quality patient care putting patients at the center of their care to provide the best level of health and well-being.

  • Established Family Medicine Residency outpatient practice located at UPH Prairie Parkway medical Campus, Cedar Falls, IA
  • Join team of 9 residents and 3 faculty members
  • Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
  • 36 direct patient care hours, 4 hours of administrative time
  • Primary and specialty providers at the medical campus work collaboratively and include (Rheumatology, Pediatrics, OBGYN, IM, and Diabetes and Endocrinology)
  • Provide full scope primary care and additional support for same day access
  • Create availability for patient care follow-up
  • Focus on the development and retention of physicians in the Cedar Valley
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

  • highly collaborative nature of the residency clinic/program and being a part of a team environment
  • Clinic hours 7:00-4:30 PM, Wednesdays extended hours to 7:00 PM
  • Full time 4-day work week with Fridays off
  • Support same-day patient access
  • No call requirements
  • Performs comprehensive history and physical examinations and initiates treatment when indicated for acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Patient-focused, friendly, and willing to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Physician Assistant
  • Board Certified
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred
  • Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of IA
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States
