UnityPoint Clinic and UnityPoint Health are actively recruiting a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our growing Orthopedic service line in Waterloo, Iowa.

  • Join a dynamic and collaborative orthopedic team in a growing specialty line as an Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
  • Highly motivated and skilled APP to support our dedicated orthopedic surgeons in providing exceptional, patient-centered care.
  • Work alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons and APPs serving a wide range of orthopedic specialties including sports medicine, foot and ankle, adult reconstructive, and total joint procedures.
  • Patient-focused team providing high-quality care in a dynamic inpatient setting, with flexibility to float to the outpatient clinic when needed.

Responsibilities

 

  • Full-Time, Day Shift
  • Primarily in patient-focused with flexibility to assist in outpatient clinic when needed
  • Call: 1:4, shared with physician
  • Inpatient rounding, post-operative management, and discharge planning
  • Conduct independent assessments and manage pre-/post-operative care
  • Interpret imaging and lab results; develop and coordinate follow-up treatment plans
  • Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary staff to ensure quality patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on orthopedic conditions, surgical recovery, and expectations

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Board Certified
  • 1–2 years of experience preferred in an inpatient or surgical specialty
  • Licensed (or eligible) in the state of Iowa
  • DEA and prescribing authority in Iowa
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
