UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.

UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown opened a new hospital in Marshall County in April 2022, offering the latest technology and state-of-the-art medical facility.  In addition, it has primary care clinics located in Marshalltown, Conrad, State Center and Tama-Toledo and an Express Clinic in Marshalltown.

• Market Medical Director overseeing Allen Hospital in Waterloo and Marshalltown Hospital in Marshalltown
• Established team of providers
• Nurses specially trained in emergency adult and pediatric care, including trauma and resuscitation
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

• 0.5 FTE administrative duties = 72 hours per month
• Opportunity for additional FTE to provide clinical coverage
• Provide overall leadership and oversight of clinical operations within the service line to ensure high-quality patient care and optimize financial performance
• Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and professional growth while leading process improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery and clinical integration
• Collaborate with the Market Associate Medical Director, service line director, and market leadership to align operations, manage resources, and support strategic planning
• Monitor service line performance metrics, analyze operational data, and report key findings to senior leadership
• Participate in the development and execution of service line strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term vision
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

• Board Certified Emergency Medicine
• Medical Director experience preferred
• ACLS, PALS, ATLS (Certification requirements are waived for residency trained and ABEM/ABOEM certified physicians)
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal license to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
