UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.

UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown opened a new hospital in Marshall County in April 2022, offering the latest technology and state-of-the-art medical facility.  In addition, it has primary care clinics located in Marshalltown, Conrad, State Center and Tama-Toledo and an Express Clinic in Marshalltown.

 

  • Associate Medical Director over Allen Hospital in Waterloo and Marshalltown Hospital in Marshalltown
  • Stable group of experienced providers
  • Specially trained Nurses in providing emergency adult and pediatric care, as well as in trauma and resuscitation
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

  • 0.3 FTE administrative duties = 43 hours per month
  • Opportunity for additional FTE to provide clinical coverage at both locations
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Market Leaders on strategic decision-making and promote a unified, team-based approach to staffing across campuses
  • Support the Medical Director in overseeing clinical operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across the service line
  • Assist in implementing process improvement initiatives and clinical integration efforts to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes
  • Partner with the Medical Director and service line leadership to advance strategic planning and ensure alignment within the regional delivery system
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical performance metrics, contributing to data analysis and reporting for informed leadership decisions
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and professional development among providers and staff
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Board Certified Emergency Medicine
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • ACLS, PALS, ATLS (Certification requirements are waived for residency trained and ABEM/ABOEM certified physicians)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal license to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
