We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to lead and build our Cardiothoracic Surgery program in Sioux City.

This is a high-impact opportunity to build a comprehensive Cardiovascular service line and keep care close to home.

An open-heart surgery program in Sioux City builds upon UnityPoint Health’s commitment to cardiovascular care across our entire state. This program will utilize best practices and expertise from our open-heart programs in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Waterloo and Quad Cities.

• Lead and grow a CTS program with strong system support
• Collaborate with established Interventional, Electrophysiology, General Cardiology and Vascular teams
• Build a sustainable 24-hour call model (shared coverage; PRN/locum support as needed)
• Strong referral base from employed physicians and community providers
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Provide the best outcome for every patient every time

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
• Experience building or expanding a program preferred
• Cardiothoracic surgical expertise
• Collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
• J-1 waiver sponsorship available
