Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.

General

• 28,000+ patient visits/year
• Certified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center 
• Connected to Iowa Methodist maternity center 
• Serves as the primary PED teaching site for pediatric and family practice residents as well as medical students from two universities

• Staffed 24/7 by pediatric emergency med physicians – Total staffed hours of 50 per day

• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC

• Full-time
• Join a group of 7 board certified Neonatologists and 12 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
• Rotate between downtown Methodist NICU and Methodist West special care unit
• Cover day and night shifts in the NICU with an in-house Neonatologist
• Manage premature and high-acuity neonates in a Level IIIB NICU
• Attend high-risk deliveries and lead neonatal resuscitations with a dedicated transport team
• Perform advanced procedures (intubation, UAC/UVC placement, lumbar puncture, chest tubes)
• Manage ventilatory support, including high frequency, conventional and non-invasive modalities
• Collaborate closely with Neonatologists and multidisciplinary team members
• Support and educate families during critical moments
• Level 3B NICU (census trends of 40-50 patients)

• Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
• NRP Certified 
• Board Eligible or Board Certified
• NICU experience preferred 
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the provider's field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
