UnityPoint Health - Eyerly Ball Outpatient Clinic is actively recruiting for an Outpatient Clinic Medication Prescriber to join our team in Des Moines, IA.

UnityPoint Health - Eyerly Ball provides CCBHC walk-in access, outpatient, residential and community mental health services. As a leader in providing services that respond to the changing mental health needs in our community, Eyerly Ball has evolved over the years from a single outpatient clinic to include multiple clinic locations, residential facilities, community outreach programs, care coordination and crisis services. All of the services provided by Eyerly Ball aim to help our clients maintain all aspects of their well-being so that they can lead healthy, productive lives as active members of our community. Responsibilities

  • Develop client treatment plans in coordination with mental health professionals and psychiatrists as necessary; coordinate care with internal or external treatment staff and/or medical providers
  • Submit medical orders to pharmacies, laboratories, hospitals and community agencies; arrange for emergency hospital admissions if necessary
  • Lead and guide nursing personnel; develop protocols and processes for addressing client needs and assessments
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations to determine diagnosis, level of functioning and medical needs
  • Intervene pharmacologically as needed, prescribing appropriate medication depending on client needs and condition
  • Conduct follow-up appointments with clients to monitor progress; observe and record therapeutic and side effects of prescribed medications; and make necessary changes to medication regimen
  • Make appropriate referrals to additional services including primary care,psychotherapy, Integrated Health Homes, and community based services

Qualifications

  • Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner 
  • Current ARNP license with Iowa Board of Pharmacy recognition and active DEA number
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified 
  • Current ANCC Certification
  • Hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Eligible to work in the United States
